Chapter I · La Digue and Inner Islands · 4 places

La Digue and Inner Islands

Set on the southwestern coast of La Digue island, Anse Source d'Argent is widely considered among the most photographed beaches on Earth, characterized by massive rounded pink granite boulders scattered across shallow turquoise water and powdery white sand. The beach is accessible through a former coconut plantation that provides dappled shade. The classic composition photographs the boulders from the water's edge at low tide with the open Indian Ocean visible between rock formations.

Chapter II · Bel Air · 1 place

Bel Air

The main mosque of the Seychelles capital Victoria, serving a small Muslim minority of Indian and Arab descent. Its presence reflects the trading history of the Indian Ocean archipelago.

Chapter III · La Rivière Anglaise · 1 place

La Rivière Anglaise

This covered market in the heart of Victoria is the main produce and craft market of Seychelles, named after a former British governor. Stalls overflow with tropical fruit, spices, fresh fish and the vividly coloured wares that reflect the archipelago's Creole culture. Open on most days, it is the busiest gathering point in the tiny capital, drawing islanders and visitors into its shaded aisles. The surrounding streets host vendors of souvenirs, vanilla and coco de mer curios, making it a lively introduction to everyday Seychellois life.

Chapter IV · Takamaka · 1 place

Takamaka

A wild beach on Mahé's southern coast where long ocean rollers break onto a steep bank of white sand, unprotected by any reef. The swimming is powerful and better left to strong swimmers, but the setting of granite boulders and takamaka trees is among the island's finest. Turtles nest on the beach between October and February.
