A small granitic island managed as a Special Reserve by Nature Seychelles, Cousin Island has been the site of intensive conservation work since the 1970s that transformed it from a coconut plantation to one of the densest seabird nesting colonies in the Indian Ocean. The island hosts the globally endangered Seychelles warbler alongside frigate birds, tropicbirds, and nesting hawksbill turtles. Access is by guided boat from Praslin and strictly controlled to protect the breeding wildlife.
