A rugged granite island a few kilometres east of La Digue, largely covered in forest and ringed by boulder-strewn coves. Once a coconut plantation and briefly the place of exile for a Malay sultan, it now hosts a single low-density resort. Day visitors come by boat from La Digue to snorkel its clear surrounding waters.
