The fourth-largest granite island in the Seychelles inner group and one of the most visited, La Digue is notable for its unhurried pace, with ox-carts and bicycles serving as the principal modes of transport until recently. The island's interior rises to Nid d'Aigle, a rocky summit offering views across the surrounding archipelago, while its western coast holds the densest concentration of photogenic granite-boulder beaches in the Seychelles. The small jetty at La Passe is served by frequent ferries from Mahé and Praslin.
