A private coralline island north of Mahé, Denis Island lies on the edge of the Seychelles Bank where the shallow plateau drops sharply into deep ocean, creating exceptional conditions for big-game fishing. The island is encircled by reef and white sand beaches with no public development. Nesting hawksbill turtles are present year-round and the island has been involved in successful coconut crab and giant tortoise restoration.
