The largest island of the Amirantes group, a coral island 230 kilometres southwest of Mahé ringed by fourteen kilometres of beach. Its drop-offs and canyons are a noted diving area, and a conservation centre cares for a resident tortoise population. A single resort and a small airstrip are the only development.
