The 4 biggest regions — Oslo Municipality, Nordland, Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane — read below as chapters, with 19 more waiting past them.

Chapter I · Oslo Municipality · 37 places

Oslo Municipality

The capital and most populous city of Norway, situated at the head of the Oslofjord in the southeastern corner of the country. The city centre is compact and walkable, organised around a main axis connecting the Central Station to the Royal Palace through Karl Johans gate. Major cultural landmarks include the National Gallery, the Vigeland Sculpture Park, and the Akershus Fortress, while the waterfront redevelopment around Tjuvholmen and Aker Brygge has reshaped the harbour zone.

Chapter II · Nordland · 33 places

Nordland

A small fishing village on the island of Moskenesøya at the southwestern end of the Lofoten archipelago, situated on a low islet connected by bridge to the main island. The village is framed by jagged mountain peaks rising sharply from the sea and a calm inner bay, creating a setting that has made it one of the most photographed villages in Norway. Traditional red and yellow rorbuer fishing cabins line the waterfront.

Chapter III · Hordaland · 32 places

Hordaland

A horizontal rock ledge projecting roughly ten metres out over Lake Ringedalsvatnet, some 700 metres above sea level in Hardangerfjord municipality. The formation earned its name, meaning Troll's Tongue, from its distinctive shape when viewed from the valley below. The approach trail from Skjeggedal covers around 22 kilometres round-trip with significant elevation gain, rewarding hikers with one of Norway's most dramatic natural vantage points.

Chapter IV · Sogn og Fjordane · 29 places

Sogn og Fjordane

A branch of Sognefjord in western Norway, Nærøyfjord extends roughly 17 kilometres and narrows to as little as 250 metres at its tightest point, with walls rising up to 1,800 metres on either side. It forms part of the UNESCO-listed West Norwegian Fjords property alongside Geirangerfjord. The sheer scale and tranquillity of the fjord make it a defining example of Norwegian glacial landscape.
