The highest mountain in Norway and in Scandinavia, rising to 2,469 metres above sea level in the western section of Jotunheimen National Park in Lom municipality. The standard summer ascent from Spiterstulen or Juvasshytta is a guided glacier crossing that takes around six hours return, depending on route. The summit affords an expansive view across the Jotunheimen massif, with glaciers and snowfields extending in most directions.
