A narrow mountain ridge in Jotunheimen National Park that separates the green Lake Gjende from the deeper blue Lake Bessvatnet, some 400 metres below. The classic traverse, typically starting from Memurubu on Gjende and ending at Gjendesheim, covers around 14 kilometres over exposed terrain and is regarded as one of the country's most scenic day hikes. The colour contrast between the two lakes visible from the ridge crest is one of the defining images of Norwegian mountain scenery.
