A 15-kilometre-long fjord in Sunnmøre district, branching off from Storfjorden in western Norway and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the West Norwegian Fjords site. The fjord is flanked by steep mountainsides laced with waterfalls, including the Seven Sisters and the Suitor, which tumble directly into the deep blue water below. The village of Geiranger at the fjord head is a primary departure point for cruise vessels.
