A small fishing village on the south coast of Flakstadøya island in the Lofoten archipelago, sheltered within a narrow inlet flanked by steep mountains. Considered one of the best-preserved traditional fishing villages in Norway, Nusfjord has retained much of its 19th-century character, with wooden rorbu cabins, a general store, and a fish rack infrastructure still intact. It was the first Norwegian village to be included in the Council of Europe's European model village programme.
