Chapter I · Podgorica Capital City · 9 places
Podgorica Capital City
Erected in the early 21st century in the heart of Podgorica, this tall monument was raised to mark the new millennium and has become a recognisable feature of the Montenegrin capital. Its slender vertical structure carries a clock and is illuminated at night, standing at a road junction near the city centre. Though modern, it references the tradition of Ottoman clock towers found across the Balkans. The tower serves as a landmark and meeting point in a city otherwise dominated by mid-20th-century and contemporary buildings.
Chapter II · Kotor Municipality · 7 places
Kotor Municipality
Perast is a small baroque town on the inner shore of the Bay of Kotor, its palaces and churches built during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries when the town was a prosperous maritime centre under Venetian rule. Sixteen churches and twelve palaces survive in varying states of preservation within a settlement of just a few hundred residents. Two small islands are visible from the waterfront — Sveti Đorđe with its Benedictine abbey, and Our Lady of the Rocks, an artificial island created by the deliberate sinking of boats and rocks over centuries.

Chapter III · Budva Municipality · 6 places
Budva Municipality
Budva is the main resort town on the Montenegrin Riviera, built around a compact medieval old town situated on a small promontory jutting into the Adriatic. The old town's Venetian-era walls enclose narrow lanes, Orthodox churches, and small squares, while the surrounding beaches — Slovenska Plaža being the largest — stretch in both directions from the historic core. The citadel at the tip of the promontory provides elevated views of the coastline.
Chapter IV · Old Royal Capital Cetinje · 5 places
Old Royal Capital Cetinje
Cetinje is the historical capital of Montenegro, a small mountain town set on a karst plain at an elevation of 670 metres, which served as the seat of the Montenegrin royal dynasty until unification with Yugoslavia in 1918. The town retains an unusual density of former embassies — many European powers maintained missions here during the nineteenth century — now preserved as museums and cultural institutions. The Cetinje Monastery, rebuilt multiple times after destruction, holds what is claimed to be the hand of St. John the Baptist.
