Chapter I · Buenos Aires · 63 places
Buenos Aires
A walled necropolis in the heart of Buenos Aires filled with ornate mausoleums, marble angels and grand family vaults lining narrow lanes. Notable Argentines including Eva Perón rest here, and the sculpture and architecture draw visitors as much as the history.

Córdoba Province
The Argentine Lake District is centred on the town of Bariloche in northern Patagonia, where the Andes transition from the high cordillera to a landscape of deep glacial lakes, Valdivian temperate rainforest, and Germanic resort architecture imported by nineteenth-century Swiss and German settlers. The Circuito Chico road route around Lago Nahuel Huapi passes viewpoints above intensely blue water framed by beech and coihue forest. In winter, the Cerro Catedral ski area above the lake is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere.

Chapter III · Mendoza Province · 14 places
Mendoza Province
Aconcagua is the highest mountain in both the western and southern hemispheres, standing at 6,961 metres in the Andes of Mendoza province near the Chilean border. Its southern face is one of the largest near-vertical rock walls at extreme altitude in the world. While a summit attempt requires mountaineering permits and a minimum of three weeks, the approach trek to Plaza de Mulas base camp passes through dramatic high-desert landscapes and is accessible to fit hikers without technical climbing equipment.
Chapter IV · Santa Cruz Province · 12 places
Santa Cruz Province
The Perito Moreno Glacier advances from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field to the surface of Lago Argentino within Los Glaciares National Park, forming one of the few glaciers on Earth that is currently advancing rather than retreating. Its terminal ice face stands 60–74 metres above the lake surface and extends five kilometres across, periodically damming the lake and producing spectacular ruptures as accumulated water pressure breaks through the ice wall. An elevated walkway system allows viewing of the glacier face from multiple angles.
