Iberá National Park protects the Iberá wetlands, one of the largest freshwater marsh systems in South America, covering some 13,000 square kilometres in Corrientes province. A major rewilding programme has reintroduced jaguars, giant anteaters, pampas deer, tapirs, and collared peccaries, making Iberá one of the richest and most accessible wildlife destinations in South America. Boat journeys along the lagoons reveal caimans, capybaras, marsh deer, and dozens of waterbird species at close range.
