Zanzibar Islands
Stone Town is the historic heart of Zanzibar City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose organic medieval street grid preserves centuries of mercantile and maritime cultural exchange. Elaborate carved wooden doors — some bearing brass spikes in the Indian tradition, others with Omani pointed arches — mark houses built for Arab and Indian traders. The House of Wonders, Old Fort, and the market at Darajani are among the central landmarks of a town where the call to prayer, the scent of spice, and the sound of taarab music overlap continuously.

Arusha Region
Lake Manyara occupies the floor of a Rift Valley escarpment, and the park protecting it is compressed between the water's edge and the precipitous wall rising 600 metres above. The narrow strip of groundwater forest shelters one of the largest hippopotamus populations in northern Tanzania and flocks of pelicans, storks, and flamingos along the alkaline margins. Tree-climbing lions are a notable phenomenon documented here, though sightings are variable.

Dar es Salaam Region
This torch monument commemorates the Uhuru Torch first lit atop Mount Kilimanjaro at independence in 1961 as a symbol of freedom and hope. The landmark in central Dar es Salaam features a raised replica of the torch, referencing the annual race in which it is carried across the country. Erected to mark the achievement of self-rule, it has become an emblem of national aspiration. Positioned near government offices in the historic capital, it forms a focus for civic events and a reminder of the ideals proclaimed at the founding of the nation.

A montane rainforest reserve in the East Usambara Mountains, part of the biodiverse Eastern Arc range. It shelters many endemic plants, birds, and amphibians amid old botanical gardens and forest trails.
