Talkatora Garden is a historic Mughal-style garden in central New Delhi, its name derived from a tank-shaped water feature that once stood on the site. Dating in origin to the seventeenth century, it later saw a battle during the early nineteenth-century Anglo-Maratha conflict and now serves as a public garden and sports complex. Terraced lawns, fountains and flowerbeds surround an indoor stadium, and the grounds host an annual chrysanthemum show. Close to the government quarter, it layers Mughal and colonial history.
