This mid-nineteenth-century church stands on Chandni Chowk and is among the oldest Protestant places of worship in the capital. Founded by a Baptist mission, it was destroyed during the 1857 uprising and rebuilt afterwards in a restrained colonial style with a modest bell tower. Its plain plastered exterior and quiet interior contrast with the crowded bazaar that surrounds it. The church continues to hold regular services and recalls the Christian missionary presence that established itself along the old city's main avenue.
