This restored mansion in the Ballimaran lane of Old Delhi was the residence of the celebrated Urdu and Persian poet Mirza Ghalib during his final years in the nineteenth century. A portion of the traditional courtyard house has been converted into a small memorial museum displaying manuscripts, portraits, a life-size statue and objects evoking the era. The arched brick architecture and inner courtyard recall the domestic style of the late Mughal city. Set among the crowded lanes near the Jama Masjid, it draws literature enthusiasts.
