This walled enclosure in Mehrauli is a rare surviving spiritual retreat associated with the hijra, or transgender, community, dating from the Lodi period. A quiet whitewashed courtyard holds around fifty simple graves arranged in neat rows, along with a small mosque, all raised on a low terrace. The site has long been maintained by the community as a sacred resting place for its members and elders. Tucked among the shops and lanes near the Qutb complex, it offers an unusual glimpse into a marginal thread of the capital's history.
