This sprawling park near the Qutb complex preserves layers of construction spanning roughly a thousand years of Delhi's history. Winding paths link tombs, stepwells, mosques and colonial-era follies, including the tomb of Balban and the stepwell known as Rajon ki Baoli. Because much of it remains unmanicured, the ruins sit among trees, wild grass and scattered domes. It is one of the few places in the capital where visitors can trace continuous settlement from the Sultanate era through the Mughals to the British.
