A small but historically important Chinese temple beside Senado Square in central Macau, dedicated to Guan Gong, the deified general of loyalty and commerce. Founded in the eighteenth century, it once served as a meeting hall and arbitration centre for the Chinese merchant community under Portuguese rule. Its narrow, incense-darkened halls hold antique carvings, gilded altars, and inscribed plaques recording its civic role. Tucked among the colonial buildings, it marks the meeting of Chinese and Portuguese life.
