A butter-yellow baroque church just off Senado Square, founded by Dominican friars in the late sixteenth century and among the most graceful colonial churches in Macau. Its ornate stuccoed facade, green shutters, and pedimented bell tower rise above the pedestrian lanes of the old town. Inside, a gilded altar and vaulted nave lead to a small museum of sacred art in the adjoining bell tower, displaying vestments, statues, and liturgical treasures. As part of the World Heritage centre, it anchors the route between the square and the church ruins.
