Chapter I · Northern District · 25 places
Northern District
A freshwater lake in the Jordan Rift Valley in northern Israel, the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the largest freshwater body in Israel. The lake is central to Christian tradition as the setting of numerous events in the Gospels, and the surrounding shores preserve numerous ancient sites including Capernaum and the Mount of Beatitudes. The hilly landscape enclosing the lake, green in winter and tawny in summer, provides scenic viewpoints from several directions. Fishing boats working the early morning mist over the water are a long-documented feature of the landscape.
Chapter II · Tel Aviv District · 23 places
Tel Aviv District
An open safari park near Tel Aviv where visitors drive through areas of free-roaming animals. It combines a drive-through zone with a walk-through zoo section.

Chapter III · Southern District · 18 places
Southern District
A large triangular desert occupying the southern half of Israel, encompassing a variety of landscape types including the dramatic makhtesh craters, sandstone canyons, and the flat gravel plain of the central Negev. The Ramon Crater (Makhtesh Ramon), the largest erosion crater in the world, is 40 kilometres long and exposes a cross-section of geological history in its coloured walls. The Negev was crossed by ancient incense trade routes whose remains include well-preserved Nabataean cities. Acacia trees, ibex herds, and raptors inhabit the scrubland and canyon systems.
Chapter IV · Haifa District · 12 places
Haifa District
An ancient port city on Israel's Mediterranean coast, built by Herod the Great in the 1st century BC as a large deep-water harbour and named in honour of Augustus Caesar. The site preserves a Roman theatre, hippodrome, and harbour ruins extending into the sea, alongside Crusader-era fortifications that enclose the ancient core. Underwater archaeology has documented the remarkable engineering of Herod's artificial harbour, which used hydraulic concrete on a large scale. The Roman theatre is still used for live performances against a backdrop of the sea.
