A coastal headland at Israel's northernmost point on the Mediterranean, where white chalk cliffs drop into the sea and wave action has carved a system of grottos and sea caves at the waterline. A cable car descends the near-vertical cliff face to the cave level, where narrow passages and pools are illuminated by the turquoise glow of the sea through cave openings. The dramatic white cliffs and deep blue water create an unusual visual contrast. The site sits at the Lebanese border, and the original railway tunnel beneath the headland that once linked Haifa to Beirut is visible but no longer in use.
