An Anglican church tucked into the steep lanes below Istiklal Avenue, built between 1858 and 1868 to commemorate British soldiers who died in the Crimean War. The Gothic Revival design by G. E. Street, architect of London's Royal Courts of Justice, feels transplanted from an English parish, complete with a garden courtyard that shuts out the noise of Beyoğlu. Services in English still take place here, and the quiet grounds reward the short downhill detour.
