A Genoese stone tower completed in 1348 at the northern edge of the Golden Horn, the Galata Tower rises 67 meters above the Karaköy neighborhood and provides a 360-degree panorama of the Istanbul skyline. The view from the observation deck encompasses the historic peninsula, the domes and minarets of the old city, the Bosphorus bridges, and the Asian shore. The tower's position within the dense urban fabric of Beyoğlu makes it both a navigational landmark and the city's most iconic photography platform.
