The Nizamuddin Dargah is the shrine of the fourteenth-century Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, located in the historic neighbourhood of Nizamuddin West in Delhi. Every Thursday evening the shrine complex comes alive with qawwali devotional music performed by hereditary musicians beside the marble-screened tomb, drawing worshippers and listeners from across the city. The surrounding neighbourhood contains the tombs of the poet Amir Khusrau, the Mughal princess Jahanara, and other notable historical figures.
