This octagonal tomb sits within the Humayun's Tomb complex and predates the great Mughal mausoleum beside it by around two decades. Built in the mid-sixteenth century for a noble of the Sur dynasty, it follows the Lodi tradition with a low dome, sloping buttresses and a surrounding verandah of arched openings. Bands of coloured tilework survive along its canopied chhatris, and a walled garden with its own mosque encloses the structure. A recent restoration revealed its sunken garden setting.
