Lodi Garden is a 90-acre public park in central New Delhi containing the tombs of fifteenth and sixteenth century Lodi and Sayyid dynasty sultans set among lawns, water bodies, and mature trees. The Mohammed Shah tomb, Sikander Lodi tomb, and Bara Gumbad mosque are the principal monuments, representing the transition from Tughlaq to Mughal architectural styles. The park is a green retreat within the diplomatic district and is particularly atmospheric in the morning when mist settles between the domed sandstone tombs.
