Confederation Park is a downtown green space in central Ottawa bounded by government buildings and the Rideau Canal, known as a gathering place for festivals and civic ceremonies. Its lawns and mature trees hold several monuments, including a memorial fountain and statuary honouring military and Indigenous contributions. In summer it hosts jazz and multicultural festivals, and in winter it joins the Winterlude celebrations with ice sculptures. Its central location makes it one of the busiest public squares in the capital.
