The Ghana National Mosque in the Kanda district of Accra is among the largest mosques in West Africa, built with Turkish support and echoing Ottoman design. Four slender minarets frame a central dome, and the prayer hall accommodates thousands of worshippers. The complex includes an educational institute and administrative buildings serving the national Muslim community. Its pale stone façade and cascading domes make it a prominent landmark in the northern part of the capital. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times with appropriate dress.
