The Church of the Pater Noster stands on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, at the traditional site where Jesus is said to have taught his disciples the Lord's Prayer. The Carmelite convent surrounding it is celebrated for its cloister and walls decorated with ceramic tiles bearing the prayer in well over a hundred languages. An earlier Byzantine church, the Eleona, once stood here over a cave linked to the teaching. The tiled panels, the courtyard, and the remains of the ancient basilica make it a distinctive stop.
