Petřín is a wooded hill rising above the left bank of the Vltava in Prague, laid out as a network of parks and gardens threaded with orchards and winding paths. A funicular railway carries visitors from the streets below to the summit, where a steel lookout tower echoes the shape of the Eiffel Tower. The hilltop also holds a mirror maze, a rose garden, an observatory and a memorial to the victims of communism on its lower slopes. Its blossoming fruit trees make it a favourite spring destination.
