Opened in 2003 at one of the busiest intersections in the country, this public square was created to revitalize a stretch of central Toronto with a plaza of granite paving and programmable ground-level fountains. Ringed by illuminated billboards and video screens, it is often compared to major commercial crossroads abroad. The square hosts concerts, festivals and public celebrations throughout the year and sits beside a large shopping center and theaters. Its bright screens and constant events make it the entertainment hub of the downtown core.
