Gammel Torv (Aarhus)

Gammel Torv is the old market square of Aarhus, set in the medieval Latin Quarter near the cathedral and long the trading centre of the town. Compact and paved, it is surrounded by historic townhouses now given over to cafés, shops and restaurants that spill terraces across the cobbles in summer. The narrow lanes of the Latin Quarter, filled with boutiques and bars, radiate from its edges. It remains one of the most atmospheric corners of the old city, close to the river and the cathedral.
