Set within Green Park near Hyde Park Corner, this memorial honours the tens of thousands of aircrew of Bomber Command who died during the Second World War. Unveiled by the Queen in 2012, it takes the form of an open classical pavilion housing a bronze sculpture of seven aircrew figures by Philip Jackson. The roof incorporates aluminium recovered from a crashed Halifax bomber. Inscriptions also acknowledge the civilians of all nations killed in bombing raids.
