Green Park is a royal park of some forty acres wedged between Hyde Park and St James's Park in the heart of London, giving a continuous stretch of greenery through the West End. Unlike its neighbours it has no lakes or formal flower beds, its character defined instead by open lawns and avenues of mature trees. In spring the grass fills with daffodils. Once a duelling ground and site of grand royal fireworks, it now offers deckchairs and a quiet passage between the surrounding palaces.
