Bonsecours Market is a grand domed public building in Old Montreal, completed in 1847 and long regarded as one of the finest examples of civic architecture in the country. Its silver dome and columned façade fronting the Old Port once sheltered a bustling produce market and briefly housed the Parliament of the Province of Canada. Today its restored galleries hold boutiques and exhibition spaces devoted to Quebec crafts and design. The elongated stone structure remains a defining silhouette along the historic waterfront.
