The Jaffa Clock Tower stands at the entrance to the old city of Jaffa, one of several such towers built across the Ottoman Empire to mark the jubilee of Sultan Abdul Hamid II. Completed in 1903 of local limestone, it features clock faces on each side and stained-glass windows depicting episodes from the town's history. The tower has become the symbolic gateway between modern Tel Aviv and the ancient port. It anchors a busy plaza surrounded by cafés, the old police station, and the lanes leading down into the historic quarter.
