The Odeon of Amman is a small Roman theatre on the eastern side of the downtown Hashemite Plaza, beside its larger and better-known neighbour. Built in the 2nd century, it seated around five hundred spectators and was likely roofed, serving as a venue for musical performances and council meetings. Its compact semicircle of stone seating has been restored and is occasionally used for concerts today. Visitors often pair it with the adjacent forum columns and the great Roman theatre carved into the opposite hillside.
