The Jordan Museum is the country's flagship cultural institution, located in the Ras al-Ayn district of downtown Amman. Its galleries trace the region's story from prehistory through the Nabataean and Islamic eras, and it holds some of the oldest surviving human statues, the Neolithic 'Ain Ghazal figures. Visitors also see fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls, including the Copper Scroll. The modern building arranges exhibits chronologically across archaeology and heritage wings, making it a useful first stop for understanding Jordan's deep past.
