A row of five mint-green colonial villas along a mangrove-fringed avenue in Taipa, built in 1921 as residences for senior Macanese civil servants and their families. Their verandaed, European-style architecture, softened by tropical shutters and gardens, now houses museums recreating Macanese domestic life and hosting cultural exhibitions. A landscaped promenade and wetland stretch before them, once looking out over the sea before land reclamation. The pastel ensemble is among the most photographed heritage rows on the islands.
