A cliffside village on Yeongdo island in Busan, its narrow lanes and stacked houses clinging to a slope directly above the sea. Once a poor settlement of wartime refugees, the neighborhood has been revitalized with cafes, small galleries, and art installations while retaining its steep, maze-like alleys. A seaside walking path skirts the base of the cliffs with wide ocean views, and the whitewashed houses viewed from below have earned it comparisons to Mediterranean coastal towns. It has become a popular spot for strolling and photography.
