An aerial cableway that carries passengers from the edge of the town up to the summit of the Rock in a few minutes. The ride climbs steeply above the streets, giving expanding views across the bay, the strait and the coast of Africa on clear days. The upper station sits within the nature reserve, close to viewing terraces and the resident colonies of Barbary macaques. It provides the quickest way to reach the top for walkers and sightseers alike.
