The territory's principal museum, telling the story of the Rock from prehistory to the present. Its galleries cover the geology of the peninsula, the Neanderthal discoveries, the many sieges and the military and social history of the fortress. Beneath the building lie the remains of a medieval Moorish bathhouse, preserved as one of the finest of its kind in the region. A detailed scale model of the Rock helps visitors grasp its complex network of defences.
