Casemates Square

The largest public square in Gibraltar, set at the northern end of Main Street beside the old town gates. Once the site of military barracks and a place of execution, the surrounding casemate buildings now house restaurants, bars and shops around an open paved space. The square hosts markets, concerts and public celebrations, including national day festivities. It marks the entrance to the historic commercial heart of the territory and a lively gathering point for residents and visitors.
