Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia

A history museum inside the Venetian walls of Nicosia devoted to the story of the city itself, from ancient times to the modern era. Housed in a restored mansion, its rooms trace the development of the capital through everyday objects, costumes, maps, photographs and archive material. The displays cover the successive rulers and communities that shaped the town over the centuries. It received recognition as a leading European museum for its focus on urban social history.
