The main archaeological museum of the island, standing just outside the walls of old Nicosia in a neoclassical building. Its galleries present finds spanning from the Neolithic through the Bronze Age, Classical, Roman and later periods, drawn from excavations across Cyprus. Highlights include ranks of terracotta votive figures, ancient sculpture and gold and copper artefacts that reflect the island's long metallurgical importance. It offers the fullest overview of Cypriot antiquity available anywhere on the island.
