Located in a neoclassical building in central Thessaloniki that once served as the Greek consulate during the Ottoman period, this museum documents the struggle over Macedonia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Exhibits use documents, photographs, weapons, uniforms and dioramas to trace the political and armed campaigns that preceded the region's incorporation into Greece. The building itself played a role in the events it commemorates. Galleries also cover the liberation of the city and its early years under Greek administration.
