Fisherman's Bastion is a neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque terrace built between 1895 and 1902 on the Buda Castle Hill. Its seven conical towers represent the seven Magyar chieftains who led the Carpathian conquest, and its open galleries frame panoramic views of the Danube, the Parliament building, and Pest. Sunrise light striking the Parliament across the river is among the most reproduced compositions in Budapest photography.
